Deaflympic Part 3: Malaysian Team in the Opening Ceremony!
Again, I got the episode 2 about the Registration of Deaflympic in Taipei after Deaflympic Part 1. Thanks to Farhan Kamarzaman because everyone can enjoy to watch this! Deaf Malaysians participate in Deaflympics 2009 in Taipei
Malaysians participated in 2009 Deaflympics in Taipei in bowling and badminton, which begins from 5th September until 15th September 2009.
As a matter of record this is the first time Deaflympics is held outside Europe and the first for Asia. The last Deaflympics Games was held in Melbourne in 2005 and Malaysia got forth placing in badminton.
YBhg. Dato’ Abdullah Mohd Salleh, President of Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre (MFTC) Taipei and YBhg. Datin Zawiah Ahmad were at the Opening Ceremony of the Deaflympics Games at Taipei Stadium on 5th September 2009.
YBhg Dato’ Abdullah Mohd Salleh, President of MFTC and wife YBhg. Datin Zawiah Ahmad met with the Malaysian contingent together with Malaysian Deaflympics officials to welcome them and gave the morale support to the team. They were told also that Yang Ming High School of Shihlin will be the adopted school to cheer for Malaysian’s team throughout the event.
