PMY YMCA: International Deaf Day - 11 September 2011

Pusat Majudiri "Y" for the Deaf launched a very exciting event - International Deaf Day 2011 at YMCA, Kuala Lumpur. Many Deaf people will come to celebrate the International Deaf Day with their Deaf friends because the International Deaf Day is about Deaf need to be seen in the community and understood as social group share Deaf Culture to make their Deaf Awareness. It also draw attention to Deaf and Hearing people open their eyes about the awareness of educate people about deafness, and Deaf issues in Malaysia. So, it is very important for Deaf Community Malaysia!
The Objective:
To promote Deaf Awareness, Deaf Culture and Sign Language.
To foster relationships with Deaf insitutions / organizations with Deaf service centers.
International Deaf Day (IDD) is to create awareness of Deaf Community and Culture. There are various activities and programmes during the month of September.

  • Exhibition on Deaf Awareness.
  • Journey Into the Deaf World.
  • Registrations by Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) and Pejabat Tenaga Kerja.
  • Hearing Test.
  • Sales by Deaf Entrepreneur.
  • Foods Stalls
  • Fun Games/Batik Painting/Face Painting/Balloon Sculpting and more etc.
